The Whale 2022

I avoided THE WHALE because I have some understanding of compulsive, eating and using the gut as a fortress. Brendan Fraser’s performance is powerfully human, but it is the script that dominates this wonderful film about caring, and being honest Darren Aronofsky has made a great contribution to our understanding of what drives and limits our lives. It’s his version of Moby Dick and a lesson for anyone who wants to write, perform or produce drama and dark comedy to send a little light into our dark places. Samuel D Hunter’s stage play is a must see and breaks free of the restrictions of one small house to make a compassionate movie. See it!!
