I’m watching a Hindi language film called RRR on Netflix and it is bizarre machismo with British colonial ultra-villains that are pure melodrama and the silliest and impossibly comic action that is brutal and exaggerated to where reality quivers in despair. It has computer generated tigers and wolves and a hero beyond Tarzan, James Bond or Dirty Harry and is the nuttiest, funniest and most entertaining thing I’ve seen in a long time. It celebrates its craziness and is directed like an ad for impossible heroism. Watch it in Hindi with subtitles and use your drug of choice (I ‘m sober and fasting but it still works) The music is great and there’s wild danci

ng too (the dance duel an hour in is fabulous) Utterly nuts and clever with a cast of millions. Don’t say you weren’t warned. Oh yeah! And be patient with the titles at the start, they go forever and disclaim just about everything including the director’s sexual preferences ( only kidding) And also it is visually stunning with a soapie script that puts Neighbours to shame. It’s India’s excessive answer to Titanic and Gone With The Wind and My Fair Lady except they made far too much sense.
